I am excited to write this blog. The inspiration came from a post about one of the members of my FB group Happy, Healthy and Vibrant over 40.
It makes me so happy to share the “wins” of my members and people in my community. This community was created for women over forty who are on their way to the second part of their life.
I am one of those women who has struggled with her weight, health issues, and life changes. I am still very mindful to enjoy life no matter what it brings. If life gives you lemons, make lemonade with only a hint of honey! I am a firm believer that no matter what age you are, it is never too late to take the first step towards a better health.
I am so proud of this member. I knew she read some of the posts in the group. One day, she commented on my morning and evening stretch routine video I had posted and sent me a separate message.
She had just been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes; her sugar was very high, and she was overweight. I could tell she was stressed about it. We talked about some easy steps to change some of her eating and exercise habits. We messaged a couple times, I cheered her on and stayed in touch.
Less than 10 days later, she messaged me telling me that she had seen her doctor again and she had lots 5 pounds and her sugar had gone down considerably. Her sugar was still high but not quite as high. Her doctor said to keep doing what she was doing!! She had been walking, stretching and being mindful of what she ate. She still needed to cut out dressing she liked for her salads since it contained sugar. She asked me for another option for a recipe for a dressing that didn’t contain sugar so I will be sharing some of the salad dressing recipes soon I have shared with her. Perfect for summertime.

Remember is never too late to make changes towards better health. One step at a time, one day at a time, one fruit and veggie at a time!
